Marieke Renner, LMHC
Meet Marieke Renner, LMHC
I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2015. I love the coast and the mountains, and in my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and animals. I find inspiration in listening to audiobooks, being in nature, and focussing on mindfulness as much as possible.
I believe a trusting therapeutic relationship between counselor and client is essential to Create Change. My approach is Person-Centered and Integrative, incorporating techniques from different theories such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma focused therapy such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). My goal is to create the most beneficial therapeutic environment and a safe space for each individual client. My counseling services address concerns or issues including, but not limited to: Trauma, Depression and Anxiety, Shame, Self-esteem, Anger, Obsessions and Compulsions, and Neurodiversity.
Approach and education
I received my Master in Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2020 and I am licensed in the state of Washington. I am trained in EMDR, in working with domestic violence victims and perpetrators, and in providing anger management classes and DBT groups. I have several years of experience working with complex trauma and I am working towards my certification in EMDR.
