Meet Dr. Stacy Storey PhD, LMHCA
I am from Newport Beach, California. I have two amazing kiddos and a wonderful fur baby. I love to take my kids on adventures whenever possible. I love to work out and be outside as much as possible. I went to school at Capella University to obtain both my Master’s and Doctorate degrees. I have my Master’s in Child and Adolescent Development and my Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Positive Psychology. I believe everyone can benefit from counseling. I love to listen and help people. I am comfortable addressing immediate problems for my clients. I feel that the deeper issues come up eventually and we are able to address them as they come up. I like to help my client lead the discussion and guide them as needed. I am flexible in my thinking; there is always more than one way to look at things and I work to be flexible in my mindset to support my clients.
Approach and education
After completing my masters in child and adolescent development, I determined that my preferred clients would be children of all ages and adolescents. I believe that helping support children and adolescents to build helpful coping/processing skills and communication tools will allow them to be successful adults. I am passionate about working with families on building communication and understanding how to work through the challenges that come from the different development stages of childhood and adolescence.
