Holly Chancey, LMHCA
Meet Holly Chancey, LMHCA
Through my personal life experiences, I have acquired a deeper understanding of the honor that comes from learning more about ourselves in order to intentionally mold our futures. With a combination of therapy and continued practice outside of our sessions, my goal with you is to promote self awareness, self acceptance and self confidence. We’ll work together to increase mental clarity when disruptive situations occur and improve your quality of life altogether.
A true passion of mine is working with women through their transition into and throughout motherhood. After becoming a mom, my passion for working with individuals in the perinatal season of life ignited. There are many unseen and unspoken challenges that come along with parenthood. No matter what your experience, I am here to support you through it.
Other specializations include working with adolescents through social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, and parent support coaching through an attachment and trust based model called Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
In counseling sessions with clients, I utilize a variety of different interventions and techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment based and emotionally focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness through a person centered approach.
Approach and education
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Human Development and Family studies from Auburn University. After years of working in schools as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and coordinator of student services I decided to further my education into Mental Health Counseling. I received my Master of Science from Walden University in 2021 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, and have completed training for certification in Perinatal Mental Health.
“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you.”
